Every company is racing to the cloud these days, needing to satisfy customers burdened by economic constraints, and Consona announced this week that it will be offering a full suite of cloud-based CRM and ERP options early next year.

Built using Amazon’s Web Services (AWS) cloud-computing infrastructure, these new SaaS options will come with new pricing options, and there will also be a series of value-added services to support customer deployments. Consona’s vice president of sales and marketing, Richard Furby, says he’s especially happy to see companies moving toward platforms that are cost-effective, because this puts customer focus back on an application’s functionality relative to their business needs.

Consona’s vice president of product management, Tim Hines, says their ERP and CRM products are best partnered with cloud-based deployments, built on a Server/OS visualization platform as opposed to a multi-tenant application platform. In some regards Consona is a bit late to the cloud-computing game, but they are smartly positioning their new on-demand products as “next generation SaaS”: all the advantages of the first generation, without the pesky security concerns. Hines notes that customer data is too valuable for the company to have moved to the cloud earlier, but now they are ready and excited to show people what the Consona Cloud can do.
