NetSuite Launches A Cloud-Based SRP Application

Tuesday, NetSuite announced the launch of the first end-to-end, cloud-based business management solution for services businesses with a global reach. Their OneWorld SRP platform provides global services businesses with real-time visibility, resource management and operational control, and helps bring service resource planning to the modern age with cloud functionality.

Services-based organizations juggle widespread fluctuating demand for local resources, pricing pressures, multi-currency billing, and locally-negotiated services delivery contracts—there are a lot of balls in the air, and OneWorld SRP acts as an integrated tool suite to manage these dynamics more easily. Services-based companies’ revenue stems mostly from delivering time- and project-based consulting offerings, and surprisingly, the industry has long been without an integrated product like OneWorld SRP.

Of course, everything is moving the cloud these days, so that aspect of OneWorld isn’t especially surprising. What is surprising is the innovative disparity between this product and previous offerings—most productivity suites for services businesses were developed before the World Wide Web. So OneWorld SRP not only increases efficiency with cloud capabilities, it also brings the industry to the Internet Age.

NetSuite only recently carved a niche in the services resource planning category, when they acquired OpenAir PSA last year. SRP is not a heavily saturated market, so it will be interesting to see if any other ERP heavyweights give it more focus in the near future.
