Infor Helps Leading South African Retailer Stay On Trend with New Time and Attendance Solution

Infor today announced that Foschini, a leading South African retail group, has selected Infor HCM Workforce Management Time & Attendance to boost staff productivity within its fashion, sport, jewellery and homeware stores. The solution will help increase payroll accuracy; create improved visibility of hours worked by retail staff; and ensure consistent processes across all of Foschini's stores. Following a successful pilot completed in October 2008, HCM Workforce Management Time & Attendance (T&A) will be rolled out for 1330 stores by early 2010, as well as Foschini's 900 seat call centre by mid 2009.
Previously Foschini used spreadsheets and had disparate views of staffing patterns. As the organisation expands and labour costs in South Africa increase, it needs to better understand workforce behaviour, and establish benchmarks for improvement. Foschini found that it required a sophisticated T&A system to ensure that resources were being deployed effectively and policies were adopted.
Foschini reviewed a shortlist of three T&A solution providers, and selected Infor's solution based on its user friendliness, depth of functionality and the deep domain expertise of the Infor team. Having completed a 78 store pilot, the project team received excellent feedback. Overtime payments were made more quickly and accurately; area managers' time was freed up to invest into planning and sales, and staff retention is anticipated to see a marked improvement.
