Lawson Customer Brødrene Dahl Wins e-Commerce 2009 Award
Stockholm, Sweden, May 5th, 2009 – Lawson Software today announced that its customer Brødrene Dahl, Denmark’s largest wholesaler of heating and plumbing products has won the much coveted Danish ‘E-HANDELSPRISEN 2009’ award. The company’s e-sales portal ‘BDnet’ has been selected as the best business to business (B2B) solution from 200 competing companies in various categories.
Based on the Lawson ERP system (Lawson M3) and Lawson e-sales solution, Brødrene Dahl has continuously been investing in and optimizing its e-commerce strategy and personalized e-sales solution, which brings significant value to Brødrene Dahl and its customers.
With 52 stores spread across Denmark, 127.000 products items, and a highly mixed customer base, BDnet is a particularly effective solution. It provides a single view of customer facing processes, reduces the cost of order administration and accelerates the order process of products and services.
Making a success of e-commerce requires a clear strategy, ownership and laser focus. These are some of the differentiating aspects the jury agreed upon when awarding Brødrene Dahl in the category of best B2B e-commerce project 2009. “We have been investing in the expansion of our business model beyond that of a traditional wholesaler supplier of products to becoming a modern supplier meeting our customer changing demands and information needs,” said Steen Petersen, e-Commerce Manager at Brødrene Dahl. “Through the use of modern technology we have adapted ourselves, creating new business opportunities and value for our customers. With Brødrene Dahl’s e-sales solution, customers entering orders before 5.30 pm get guaranteed delivery the following morning. This speedy service is being facilitated through the integration of the e-sales solution with the Lawson M3 ERP system and logistics provided through the company’s fully owned and managed transportation network.
“Our internal sales force has been extensively trained on how to encourage customers to use the on-line solution,” said Petersen. “More than 8.000 users are actually ordering on-line, which represents a substantial part of our overall revenue. Our objective is to grow these numbers by continuously monitoring our customer’s behavior on BD.net. This helps us fine tuning the system, such as adding user attractive features, personalized settings, new services and special promotional offerings,” Petersen concluded.
