Logility Customer Lance, Inc. Honored as a Managing Automation 2009 Progressive Manufacturer
Atlanta (April 21, 2009) – Logility, Inc. (NASDAQ: LGTY), a leading supplier of collaborative solutions to optimize the supply chain, announced today that Lance, Inc. has been named a winner of the Managing Automation 2009 Progressive Manufacturing Awards for their success increasing visibility, improving forecast accuracy and optimizing inventory levels with Logility Voyager Solutions™.
The Progressive Manufacturing 100 Awards recognizes projects that have achieved distinction in at least one of the eight core disciplines defined by Managing Automation Media as critical to business success in the years ahead. These disciplines are: Business Model Mastery, Customer Mastery, Supply Network Mastery, Data & Integration Mastery, Innovation Mastery, Training and Education Mastery, Leadership and Operational Excellence. An independent judging panel chaired by David R. Brousell, Editor-in-Chief, Managing Automation Media, Jeff Moad, Executive Editor, reviewed project nominations. Lance, Inc. was selected as a PM 100 winner for their distinction in the Supply Network Mastery discipline.
Lance, a manufacturer and marketer of recognized snack food brands throughout much of North America, wanted to boost the efficiency of its growing supply chain. Under the leadership of Greg Wolljung, vice president of service and distribution, the supply chain team at Lance implemented Logility Voyager Solutions to increase visibility across the enterprise and help them achieve a consensus forecast, better forecast accuracy on a 30-day horizon and optimized inventory levels. As a result of this initiative, Lance has increased forecast accuracy, reduced days on hand, streamlined sales collaboration and developed an executive sales and operations planning (S&OP) process. Now with more accurate forecasts, Lance is able to meet the company’s goals of reducing working capital, improving operational efficiencies, increasing freshness at the shelf, and optimizing inventory.
“The project at Lance, Inc. provides an excellent example of how the PM 100 companies are leading the way to a better future for all industry, by taking risks, demonstrating creativity and inventiveness, and improving business processes to increase efficiency and profitability,” said David R. Brousell, editor-in-chief, Managing Automation Media. “We are in the midst of one of the worst economic downturns in history, and the PM 100 winning companies dramatically underscore how the manufacturing industry will not only get through this period but emerge in an even stronger position once a recovery takes hold.”
Lance will be honored and presented with their award at the Progressive Manufacturing Awards Gala to be held on the last day of the Progressive Manufacturing Summit 2009: Redefining the Business of Manufacturing in Turbulent Economic Times, June 9-11 at the Ritz-Carlton in Sarasota, FL.
“We are proud of the success that Lance has achieved with the deployment of Logility Voyager Solutions and are honored to be a partner in their achievements,” said Mike Edenfield, president and CEO, Logility. “With extensive growth in their supply chain, Lance recognized the challenges and took the initiative to build a stronger, more collaborative supply chain to ensure profitable growth. We congratulate the Lance team for being selected to receive the prestigious PM 100 recognition.”
