QuickBooks Online Now Available to Mac Users on Safari
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – May. 05, 2009 – Business owners who use a Mac can easily stay on top of their finances when and where they want using QuickBooks® Online, now available on the Safari® browser.
QuickBooks Online accounting software, from Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq: INTU), keeps accounting simple so that businesses can focus on making money. Without any accounting background, business owners can easily create professional-looking invoices, pay bills and track expenses no matter where they are – their home office, a client’s site or an Internet café.
Along with new Safari support, QuickBooks Online offers improved mobile Web-browser features for the iPhone™ that let users manage more of their business on the go like creating and sending invoices.
“As promised, we’re pleased to now give Mac users the ability to use QuickBooks Online on Safari,” said Heather Kirkby, QuickBooks group product manager. “With QuickBooks Online we’re making it easier for business owners to work the way they want – whether that’s on a Mac, PC or mobile phone.”
Mac users give QuickBooks Online high marks.
“Since 2700 miles separate our offices, we needed an online accounting tool to bridge the gap,” said Scott Wolfe, owner of Wolfe Law, a boutique law firm in Seattle and New Orleans. “We chose QuickBooks because it’s the standard. As we run exclusively on Macs, we used virtualization software to use QuickBooks Online, while we anxiously waited for it to support Safari. And now it does! As a result, we’re able to work a lot faster in the program now that we’re not using a workaround.”
About QuickBooks Online
Available since 2000, QuickBooks Online meets a variety of business needs. For new businesses, they can try online accounting for free with QuickBooks Online Free.
Designed for businesses that have outgrown pen-and-paper or spreadsheet-based accounting, the free version gives them an affordable way to create invoices and track money. For growing companies, QuickBooks Online Plus offers advanced features to stay in control including automatic billing, time tracking and the ability to share information with multiple employees in multiple locations, including an accountant.
For all versions, improved mobile Web-browser features for the iPhone let entrepreneurs not only view key data such as bank balances and profit and loss reports, but also now edit customer, vendor and employee information as well as create and send invoices.
To increase sales and cash flow, all versions, at an additional cost, can integrate with a QuickBooks Online Merchant Account to let businesses process credit card payments directly from QuickBooks Online.
