Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District Licenses Multiple Lawson Applications
ST. PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May. 20, 2009-- Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN) today announced the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District licensed multiple Lawson enterprise applications from both the Lawson S3 and M3 product lines. Northern Water selected the Lawson S3 Enterprise Financial Management, Enterprise Performance Management, Supply Chain Management, and Lawson Human Resource Management suites. In addition, Northern Water licensed the Lawson M3 Enterprise Asset Management suite. Combined, these ERP applications can help Northern Water in its efforts to improve efficiency and reduce costs – while helping with management of human resource functions as well as the organization’s large, fixed assets. The contract was signed during Lawson’s third quarter of fiscal 2009, which ended Feb. 28, 2009. Lawson Professional Services will provide implementation support for the project.
Formed in 1937, Northern Water provides water for agricultural, municipal, domestic and industrial uses in northern Colorado and employs 112 full-time staff members. Northern Water encompasses 1.6 million acres in portions of Boulder, Larimer, Weld, Broomfield, Morgan, Logan, Washington and Sedgwick counties. It was established as the local agency to contract with the federal government to build the Colorado-Big Thompson Project, the largest transmountain water diversion project in Colorado.
“We chose Lawson because they clearly understand our business challenges,” said John Budde, accounting and project manager, Northern Water. “The Lawson system will give us tools to help make it easier for us to track and manage costs across all of our departments more effectively and accurately.”
Once implemented, the Lawson system will provide software tools to help Northern Water better manage projects large and small—from building a reservoir to issuing a newsletter. The consolidated Lawson system will offer organization-wide reporting; giving employees the information they need to help them make sound decisions and better track revenue and expenses.
“Our goal is to be a true strategic partner with our customers,” said Cheryl Turk-Peterson, marketing director, public sector, Lawson. “We work with public sector organizations, including water districts, to deliver enterprise software solutions that help improve business processes and deliver greater efficiency. This helps employees focus more time and energy on serving the public and less on administrative tasks.”
Lawson serves more than 140 public sector customers, including three of the top seven digital state governments and four of the 25 largest school districts in the United States. State governments, cities, counties, school districts, publicly owned utilities/authorities and special districts rely on Lawson solutions to help meet the needs of key stakeholders – constituents, employees, students, vendors and communities – while helping to maximize limited budgets.
