Sage North America Chosen as One of the Best Companies to Work for in Texas for the Second Consecutive Year

AUSTIN, TX —Sage North America today announced it was named one of the Best Companies to Work for in Texas 2011. This is the second consecutive year Sage has been recognized with this honor. The Best Companies to Work for in Texas awards program was created in 2006, and is a project of Texas Monthly magazine, the Texas Association of Business (TAB), the Texas State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management (TSC-SHRM), and Best Companies Group.

Sage North America helps 3.2 million small and midsized businesses and organizations—including more than 32,000 unique not-for-profits—in the U.S. and Canada increase efficiency and more easily manage their operations through the use of technology. The company’s Nonprofit Solutions business, which serves nonprofit and governmental organizations with its Sage Fundraising and Sage Fund Accounting products and services, is headquartered in Austin, Texas. More than 100 employees work on that campus.

Dana Turner, a senior customer support analyst who joined Sage in 2004, has the longest commute—35 miles or 45 minutes—to Sage's Austin campus. The statewide Best Companies to Work for in Texas survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in Texas, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce, and businesses. The Best Companies to Work for in Texas 2011 list is made up of 100 companies. Sage North America was recognized and honored at the Best Companies to Work for in Texas awards ceremony on Thursday, January 27, as part of the TAB 2011 Annual Conference in Austin, Texas. The rankings will also be released in a special advertising section of the February 2011 issue of Texas Monthly.

To be considered for Best Companies to Work for in Texas participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

Have at least 15 employees working in Texas;
Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity;
Be a publicly or privately held business;
Have a facility in the state of Texas; and
Must be in business a minimum of 1 year.
Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the Best Companies to Work for in Texas. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Texas and also analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.
